There are many ways to personalise your near A5 photo album, from the paper type and thickness to how text appears on the cover.

Our paper choices

Available in four options and printed with traditional book binding, each paper type offers our premium quality. Classic and Recycled Paper are great all-round options with a slight sheen and smooth feel. High Gloss is greatly suited to high contrast and vibrant photos and deep blacks. True Matte paper is smooth to the touch with almost no sheen and is popular for those creating a small album of mostly black and white photos. To top it off, all paper types are FSC® approved.

Premium Photographic Paper

Our photographic paper is available in three options, rated at over 300gsm and printed with seamless layflat binding. Classic Photographic Paper brings a smooth shine and is the perfect middle ground for vibrant colours without the mirror-like gloss. Matte Photographic Paper is perfect for black and white photos and those looking for a smooth non-reflective finish. Gloss Photographic Paper creates deep blacks and stunning colour vibrancy with a popular glossy finish.

Three cover types

One thing to note is the cover type you choose will limit the number of paper options available to you. For example, a Booklet cover is only available in Classic Paper. Choosing a Softcover for your small photo book gives you the option of Classic or High Gloss paper with a center-fold binding. However, the hardcover allows for any paper type to be chosen with the option of Highlights.

Binding types

The binding of your small photo book depends on the type of paper you’ve chosen. Digital Paper is accompanied by traditional centre fold binding, lending the book the feel of a real book. Photographic Paper is used to create completely flush layflat album pages. With that in mind, layflat is suited to panoramic to page spread images without interruption.

Highlights

Available in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold and Gloss, Highlights can be added to text and select Clipart on the front and back cover to create a premium raised embossed effect. Highlights are often used on albums featuring special occasions like weddings and milestone birthdays.

Video via QR code

If you have videos associated with your trip, event or occasion they can be seamlessly linked to your small photo album. A unique QR code is created which can be scanned by an internet enabled device, such as your Smartphone, to take you directly to your chosen video.

Regardless of the occasion, you can fill your small photo book with each of your favourite memories, as each book starts with 26 pages as standard. Due to high-definition printing and the smaller format, your images come out clear and vibrant. The landscape layout is perfect for displaying multiple photos across two pages, especially when coupled with layflat photographic paper.

All CEWE PHOTOBOOK products can be hardcover photo books, since you can choose the kind of cover you want, at the product configuration step. Hardcovers are durable and protective. You can customise the spine and add embossing to the cover with Highlights (available in metallig and clossy finishes), for an extra level of personalisation.
