DIY Wedding Inspiration and Ideas
Your wedding day should reflect who you are as a couple – so take the opportunity to personalise your day wherever you can. From sending out the much-anticipated ‘Save the Date’ to the finishing touches on the tables, you can design your day to the very last detail. We know a thing or two when it comes to printing, so allow us to talk you through how simple it is to put your own stamp on your special day. After all, there is no such thing as too much wedding inspiration!
Unique Save the Date and Wedding Invitations
Personal touches make a wedding even more exciting, so why not start from the moment you announce the date? Avoid sending out a generic wedding invitation and impress your guests from the moment they receive their invite. Our Photo Greetings Cards are printed on sturdy 300 gsm² card and will set the standard for the rest of your celebrations.
Make Your Own Guestbook
Most newlyweds will say that the day flew by so quickly, that they felt as though they didn’t get to speak to everyone. Give your guests the chance to commemorate their attendance and give their congratulations with a personalised wedding guest book.
Ask them to record happy memories, tips for the future and words of wisdom for you and your partner to fondly look back on in years to come. Speaking of which, the Large Landscape Photo Book is the ideal size for a guest book.
Top tip: Select matte paper for a smudge resistant finish.
Create A Seating Plan… With A Difference
If your wedding is more on the intimate side, and you’ve chosen to invite a select few guests, a photo seating plan is an impressive way to inform your family and friends of where they will be seated. A photo seating plan is a fun and creative idea that will save them scrawling through a list of names as they’ll notice their face instantly!
To achieve this look, all you need is a large, wooden board (or any other large piece of material that takes your fancy) thick string, clips, tape and Retro Prints of all your guests. Simply drape the string across the board and tape in place on the back – then, add your photos by clipping them to the string. Retro Prints are available in quantities of 16, 24 and 32 and, with the choice of a matte or glossy finish, there’s a perfect combination to match your bespoke list of friends and family. A great idea to add to your wedding venue, guests will definitely be impressed by those extra little details.
Ideal for both indoor and outdoor weddings, take it to the next level by placing a flower arrangement around the board. Whether you decide to use the same flowers in your bouquet or something else to match the rest of the aesthetic, it will look impressive either way.
Another way to personalise your wedding decor is the use of wallpaper. Wedding planners are using prints on statement walls and even as the ceremony altar itself – so there is no harm in adding some to your photo seating plan. Maybe this is something that you can rope the bridal party into helping you create too…
What’s on the Menu?
The food is always a big talking point of the day and everyone will be looking forward to settling down at the table and tucking in. As soon as your guests arrive at their seat, give them a taste of what’s to come with a personalised menu. Printed in sets of 10, our Table Menu Cards are laminated to guard against spillages and sticky fingers too.
When the cards arrive, you just need to write your guests’ names for a truly individual place card that shows them how special their attendance is to you.
Personalised Table Games
Is one of you a secret Harry Potter fan? Or maybe you have a fear of flying that not many know about? See how well your guests really know you with a simple, yet fun, game that they can get stuck into whilst waiting for the speeches or the food to arrive. Simply print photos of the pair of you and write fun facts on the back that could apply to you both. Then, lay them flat so your guests can guess whose photo will be on the other side. Once your guests have decided on who the fact belongs too, they turn it over and see if they are correct! This is a great game if your friends and family are sharing tables and provides them with something fun and lighthearted to break the ice.
‘Couples Crosswords’ are another way to test your guests’ newlywed knowledge by creating a crossword puzzle entirely based on information about the bride and groom. Winners with the most correct answers for this wedding game don’t have to win anything beyond bragging rights. Design the crossword yourself with a template (that you can find online) and then get it printed! Fun, low cost and completely original.
